This was a cute book that really held my interest from the beginning to the end. Penny 
farthing is a girl whose family has a history of genetic heart failure. After almost dying, Penny receives a second chance by getting a mechanical wind-up heart. That doesn’t slow her down much though. The surgeon behind her one of a kind heart has done abominable things in order to further his art of augmenting people and is on trial for murder. I recommend this book to fans of Lisa Mantchev’s previous books in the Theatre Iluminata series and fans of Gail Carriger’s Soulless series.
